Email from Cub Master Mr. Kimball

Hello Pack 589 Families!

First let me say that this has been a great year for our Pack! Your Pack Leadership has had such great experiences this year helping your boys grow and learn, we hope you will come back in September so we can do it all over again! Just because the Scouting Season is coming to an end, doesn't mean the fun has to stop! We are busy in the Summer too! Here are a few upcoming events that you can help and participate in:

  • June 6Th: Bridging Ceremony
  • June 18Th-20Th: Family Camp
  • July 4Th: Brea country fair lemonade stand
  • August TBA: Beach Day
At this time we need to get a FINAL count of those families who will be attending Family Camp this month. this is so we can buy the correct amount of food, and bring the correct amount of supplies. Attached to this email you will find an excel spreadsheet with the names of those who have already RSVP'd. please check the list if you said yes, and make sure that the info is correct. I will try to include as much information as possible about the weekend, if you have ANY questions, please let me know ASAP and i will try to get you an answer!

  • We will be camping at:  Ronald W. Casper's Park, which is run by the County of Orange Dept. of Parks
  • The Address is:     Casper's Wilderness Park 33401 Ortega Hwy. San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675
  • The Phone Numbers Are:  (949)923-2210 or (949)923-2207

  • The price is: $5.00 per vehicle per night incl. driver, $2.00 per passenger per night. Day use fees: $5.00 (if you don't camp) i would suggest bringing cash, as i don't know what they are set up to take at the gate.
The Pack will be paying for the 3 meals provided, so you will just need to pay when entering for the time you will be staying. you will need to tell the attendant that you are from Pack 589 and our reservation is for San Juan Meadow A and D. We will provide Breakfast Saturday, Dinner Saturday, and Breakfast Sunday. If you are planning on staying the whole time, you may want to grab dinner on the way to the campsite on Friday (earliest check-in is 2pm) bring a sack lunch for Saturday, and grab lunch on the way home Sunday. Latest checkout on Sunday in noon. Our menu will be something like this:

~Monday May 10th~

It's HERE! We finally have a working Message board.
"what is a message board?"
It is exactly what it sounds like it is, a digital space where you can place messages in an organized manner so they may be viewed by other members who may reply, comment, discuss, critique your message. And it wont clutter your email box (unless you want it to, look for subscribe to thread button)
"How do I use it and who is it for?"
Everyone! The webmaster will monitor the board so even your boys could post to there friends and scout leaders safely. A quick sweep every day or two will take mere moments but looking for the "New Post" icon on the forum "Home" page. Send request or questions out for scout leaders, other parents, or even the all mighty Scout Master Mr. Kimball.

Also as an added feature there is a privet message system that will work much like your email but is used exclusively for this board, so if there are any questions concerning the use of the board or this website feel free to direct those to webmaster.

SCOUT-O-RAMA!! Its like scouting Christmas and it is THIS WEEKEND!!

We have a link to the web page here

based upon my Google maps the easiest way to get there from Brea is 57S to 91E to tollroad 241
avoiding the toll road route is 57S to 91E to 55S exit Champan Ave. head east until Chapman Ave. turns into Santiago Cyn. RD.
Remember $5 parking and all booths offer free activities, information, games, food. but actual vendors are also avalible. But most of it is FREE!!
(Your killing me Larry?)
